The passion continues………….
Our daughters, each grown up and raising their own families are living lives steeped in their experiences on the farm. They hope to share with you through occasional Facebook posts opportunities to get more in touch with raising your own food, utilizing the food you grew, and learning from nature, and general gardening tips.
I live with my husband and our daughter in the Driftless Area of Wisconsin in Jackson County on 60 acres. This land is our home and also our canvas reflecting our interests and our biases. We purchased it in 2011 and since then have spent evenings and weekends treating invasive species, improving the woods, installing trails, planting prairies, digging a pond, and the list goes on. Besides taking care of our land we enjoy raising beef cattle, gardening, canning and preserving, hunting and fishing. These projects and hobbies for us are really more than just that, they are a lifestyle. We both have degrees and careers in natural resources so owning our own land and having a place to apply what we have learned and continue to learn through that process is a dream come true. We are very excited to be raising our daughter where she can get her hands in the dirt, catch frogs, and pick bouquets of prairie flowers because after all life is really about adventure, learning, and trying something new. We hope you enjoy our Facebook posts from the farm!
